I’ve decided to give doing a video post a whirl as i’ve never used iMovie on my Mac before (it is very easy to use it turns out), and I thought it would be fun to inject some other forms of media in to my blog. Also I am going to apply for this job so the experience is useful!
Before you watch the video I feel I should justify a few things:
- This is the first ever video post I have done.
- I am really more enthusiastic than I come across in the video! Like writing, video posting is obviously something that evolves over time.
- My hair isn’t always that messy.
- Video editing and understanding that kind of technology is my main motivation for doing the video. Like most people I don’t like seeing my own picture, let alone video so this is not a narcissistic activity.
- I deliberately didn’t retake or over edit as I want to see how it comes across in the blog etc.
Enjoy the video and I look forward to your feedback!

- As I mention in the video I am currently contemplating a slight change in direction for the blog. Stay tuned – there is going to be a lot more on this…
- I’m an inspirational blogger! Thanks Jay
- Yes I’ve had a mess around with my blog design. I’m a lot happier with it now.

So that’s what you look like! I didn’t even realise you were english… Nice work with the first vid – tough to do, I’m not sure whether or not to brave those waters…!
All the best for the year ahead, sounds like you’ve got some great plans.

@Ross – Hi Ross, thanks for your comments. I don’t look exactly like the video, looking down on a laptop doesn’t help! It wasn’t that hard to do, but I’m sure I could make much better videos in the future…maybe. It’s nice to experiment anyway.
Chris, I’m definitely looking forward to more travel posts – with video!! We’re both working toward the lifestyle design ideal of being able to travel while working, so I’m hungry for anything you can share to make that transition easier.
Has anyone ever told you that you look a bit like the Oasis brothers?

@Maria – Thanks for your comment, it’s great to get your opinion. Still working out how the blog with transition as I do… Re: Oasis – haha! I live 2 miles from where they grew up! (and I’m a big fan). Just got my hair cut actually, was a bit longer. I have quite a Beatles vibe going on sometimes.
Love the video Chris. I did know you were English, but the accent still through me for some reason! Funny. You travel to US- you have a place to crash in Charlotte, NC. I was going to mention before but I like to new look. Very clean! As per your content, what is something you could talk about, read about, research, and dream about all day, every day and never get tired of it? That is your passion, and it should be your focus. I love the content you have here, and it is presented in a manner that is not pretentious. You can tell you are a real person, and that is a quality people like these days. Real people talking about how they make it through life. Whatever you do, it will be awesome!

Well done Chris. Great first foray into video. I’m trying to learn this technology as well, and you inspire me to jump in and just do it.
@Jay – Thanks. As for the content, I don’t know what I would never get tired of to be honest. I constantly evolve my interests, and as you see here my thinking moves along with my experiences.
@Mike – Go for it. It was a fun learning experience.
Thanks for your comments on the fact that I did a video post, glad you enjoyed it.
